Covid 19 is the biggest pandemic which organization face in 2020 .The running businesses today while facing the global pandemic of COVID-19 is quite challenging. In every company Human Resource division has to perform a key role in fighting against COVID-19 while managing the human resource management functions.

Training and development is defined as a process of systematically developing work-related knowledge and expertise in people for the purpose of improving performance (Swanson, 2001).

Training and development is the key factor of the organizational performance and key competitor advantage for company. Even though having a world pandemic company need to concern the training development because it’s directly impact for innovation. Hence company need identified new methods for training staff for better performance.

Intel Company converted to the   previous in-person offerings to digital and on-demand channels and created a curriculum known as Pathways, remote work, leading virtual teams, mental health, wellness, even ergonomics.

The platform which is introduced has a strong mobile capability and is also accessible on non-Intel devices so employees can learn when and where is convenient for them. The shift to digital learning, especially in a self-directed format, also requires employers take into account a number of other considerations.

Local context with ABC Telecommunication Company

As an ABC telecommunication company also followed all the digitized plat forms for the training during the time periods for individual and departmental level.  The major reasons was all the employees are technical sound and ability to work with technology environment. All the day to day training such ERP. CRM, billing and other training modules were implemented via Zoom and Microsoft teams.

Employees are provided fully technology base training experience and regular feedback from their managers through an appraisal system that helps them to identify what areas require more focus. Finally positive impact was to the learning curve within company and its healthy financial benefit available for ABC Company.

Conclusion

As the global COVID-19 pandemic continues to limit in-person interaction, remote learning solutions allow companies to continue growing. E Learning, online learning, distance education, and even virtual exchange are the main tools used to prepare employees for remote training. Well trained staff improves the communication within Organization, transfer of skills and knowledge, improves job performance, encourages team work, boosts the morale of employees and leads to job satisfaction.

  1. As well explained by the author, technology can be used instead of traditional training methods to continue T & D during the pandemic. With the use of digital platforms need to focus more on keeping interaction and attention of the trainees to get the maximum outcome.
