Human Resource Information System is a systematic way of storing data and information for each individual employee to aid planning, decision making, and submitting of returns and reports to the external agencies (Hendrickson, 2003).

HR cloud solutions are better than legacy technologies at achieving desired business outcomes as well as including improved data security, user experience, and greater mobile capabilities.

Sri Lanka Telecom is the leading telecommunication company in Sri Lanka which using the HRIS system with cloud base. Previously used the on premised module and has been shifted to the cloud base plat form.

As a telco company all the employees have privilege for HR system with the authentication and view the time attendance, prepare the monthly attendance summery for payroll and its approval also granted relevant officers via HRIS system. End of the year performance appraisal process was streamlined with the system and it independent is important for build the relationship with relevant department heads and employees.

As well as  using the employee login all the leaves were entered respective employees ,possibility view the payroll  , apply for the trainings and getting the welfare benefits like booking the holiday bungalows are other important benefits for SLT employees.

Conclusion

Using the HRIS, employer and employees have Positive impact for achieve the organizational HR goals. This has also given a wider spectrum of Human Resource Management System communication to the users. It helps that information get into the HR practitioners hands much quicker and allows for easy storage of the information. Technology can be a boon to the HR practitioner.
